About a year and a half ago I had my one and only date from the Tinder app.  It wasn't long before we were both wishing we'd swiped left but she did turn me on to the show Parks & Recreation by telling me that my libertarian politics reminded her of Ron Swanson.

Now I'm addicted to Parks & Rec and can't remember her name.

Mercifully, it's available on Netflix and now I'm binging.  This comes hot on the heels of my M*A*S*H binge, my Fraiser binge, my Friends binge, my Firefly binge, my Twin Peaks binge, my Orange is the New Black Season 4 binge, etc.

Nowadays shows no longer feel like shows- they feel like extended mini-series.  It's interesting to watch all the episodes of a show in rapid succession- you become more keenly aware of the rhythms of the show and the repetitions of various plot devices.  What once seemed like a sprawling epic feels small and contained.

Conversely, I've begun watching feature films in thirty minute segments.

The world feels small and safe when I do this.
